Antioxidants
Stabilizers for polymers are used singly or in combinations to prevent the oxidation, chain fission, uncontrolled recombinations and cross-linking reactions that are caused by photo-oxidation of polymers. Polymers become weathered by the direct or indirect impact of heat and ultraviolet light. MPI’s antioxidants (AO) are used to terminate the oxidation reactions caused by different weathering conditions and reduce the degradation of organic materials. They inhibit the formation of free radicals thereby enhancing the photo- and heat-stability of polymers.
