Dicumene

CAS: 1889-67-4

Flame retarding synergist for polystyrene

Description

A radical source in combination with brominated aliphatic hydrocarbons or brominated polymeric alternative products for the fire retardant preparation of polymers, particularly polystyrene and polypropylene. The thermally stable Dicumene will not decompose during polymerisation or extrusion processing, thereby being available during fire incidents. Dicumene shows a very efficient synergistic effect on brominated compounds.
